I started my weight loss journey May 12th 2012. I have lost right at 100 pounds but the loss had really been slowing. So in January I joined Curves.
I had been walking before that, about 2.5 miles at least 3 times per week but really felt I needed to add some resistance training as well!! It has been great but my weight has still not been coming off thanks to too much food intake - I traveled a lot this month plus Spring Break. I know these are excuses - and I am not proud of that - but those are the facts.
Starting this past Monday at our local Curves we started a Biggest Loser contest! I am super competitive so I am hopeful this going to give me some additional incentive to go hard core and stay on track with both calorie intake (only 1200-1400 calories per day) and physical activity!!
The weather is beautiful but I have been having a hard time squeezing in walks due to my son's sports schedule - another excuse!! Starting next week I blocked off time on my work calendar for my Curves workout on Mon/Wed/Fri!! No more excuse to miss there!!
Stay tuned for some before and current pictures as well as some great recipes I have used over the last 10 months to help me lose 100 pounds!!

Vitamix
So - at SAMs club yesterday we came across this infomercial style presentation for the Vitamix. My hubby is a sucker for a salesman and thus we went home with one of these beauties.
This is a Mac daddy blender! It can make an awesome smoothie! We had a strawberry banana one at the store that they had added squash and carrots to and it was relish.
It can also make and heat soup. When something is mixed for a long time (5 plus minutes) the friction heats it. So we had Tortilla Soup at SAMs as well (not me because I dont like that but you get the point).
On our way home we HAD to pick up the ingredients to make fresh salsa and guacamole!!! We ran home, opened the box and whipped up this fresh stuff:

Getting back on the bandwagon . . .
So - since May 12 2011 I had lost 100 pounds!! Over the last few weeks I had really lost my motivation!! I gained about 5 pounds!! Now, I am getting back on the band wagon!! Back to logging on myfitness pal, back to curves, back to walking, back to cooking healthy every night, back to meal planning for the week ( if you don't plan for success you usually fail), back to FAT loss!!
I am also going to add blogging to my list! Hopefully this will add a level of accountability for me and inspire others!!
I want to lose at least another 80 pounds. So, join me on this journey!!
